12 finalists of the Business Ideas Competition’s 2nd edition presented on May 6 their business projects in front of the jury of the B4Students program, in a dedicated “Demo Day” format activity. The two best business ideas selected by the jury will be funded with a grant, as support for starting their activity.
The “COMPACT” business plan by Martina Mesha, an Applied Design master student at Polis University, consisted of a sports and casual clothing brand that inspires a comfortable and ecological lifestyle, embracing technology, sustainability, environment, and the latest fashion trends.
Through the “DDA – Diabetic Digital Albanian App” business plan, Hygerta Pjeshka, Business Administration student at TBU, and Artemisa Pjeshka, Finance & Accounting student at the Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT) sought to create the first Albanian platform in support of the Diabetic community with informative sections of treatments for different stages and types of diabetes, diets, and recipes with ingredients that are easily found in the Albanian market, as well as a program of group physical exercises.
These two winning projects received grants in the amount of €5,000 and €3,500 respectively as funds to start their ventures. During the implementation of their business plan, students will be advised by BALFIN Group experts.
The jury that evaluated the projects was composed of Gjergji Spaho, Chief Information Officer at BALFIN Group, Lila Canaj, Chief Retail Officer at Tirana Bank, and Andi Muhametaj, Project Manager at BALFIN Group.
The Business Idea Competition, one of the main activities of B4Students, is also applauded by the President of BALFIN Group, Samir Mane, who has made sure that the support of education and entrepreneurship among youth is of significant focus in Group CSR initiatives.
The next edition of the Business Ideas Competition will be held in August – October 2022. Through this competition, B4Students aims to contribute to the creation of new ventures started by students, providing financial and technical support.
